Comedians including Al Porter and Foil, Arms & Hog announced as part of the lineup for Kilkenny Cat Laughs Comedy Festival this summer
Kilkenny Cat Laughs Comedy Festival have just announced their lineup for their festival in June, with acts including Tommy Tiernan, TJ Miller, Neil Delamere and more lined up over the festival’s of five days.
Running over the bank holiday weekend from June 1-5 in Kilkenny, the Cat Laughs Comedy Festival will feature stand-up comedy, podcasts, music and theatre.
In a press release the festival chose to highlight some of the incredible acts that are lined up:
Some of this year’s highlights include many of the biggest names in stand-up who need no further introduction – Dara O’Briain, Tommy Tiernan, Adam Hills, Kevin Bridges, David O’Doherty, Al Porter, Aisling Bea, Jason Byrne & Foil Arms & Hog!
We have festival debuts from comedian & actor TJ Miller who currently stars in HBO’s “Silicon Valley”, Scottish comedian Fern Brady who was a finalist in the Edinburgh show “So You Think You Are Funny” competition, Scott Gibson who last year won the best newcomer award at the Edinburgh Fringe, and last but not least internet sensation Limmy!
As well as new acts we have our firm festival favourites, including Dom Irrera and Barry Murphy, who have been at every Cat Laughs festival from the very beginning, and our US guests Rich Hall, Mike Wilmot and Inside Amy Schumer favourite Aparna Nancherla.
As always, this year’s line-up brings together the best in Irish comedy including Deirdre O’Kane, Andrew Maxwell, Karl Spain, Neil Delamere, Sean Hughes, Eleanor Tiernan, Rubberbandits, Abandoman, Chris Kent, Paul Currie, Joanne McNally, Alison Spittle, Colin Murphy, Fred Cooke & Gearoid Farrelly.
Our international list includes Mock the Week’s Zoe Lyons, star of stage and screen Phill Jupitus, Steve Frost’s The Improv Allstars with special guest Today FM’s own Dermot Whelan, the weird and wonderful Spencer Jones, the fabulous Tiff Stevenson, Danish stand-up Sofie Hagen and everyone’s favourite ventriloquist Nina Conti.
Looking for something a bit different? Look no further! This year we have twelve-piece brass band, Attention Bébé, blasting out your favourite 90s hits into the small hours at The Set Theatre. We are also delighted to welcome the best of Irish Podcasts – “An Irish Man Abroad” with Jarlath Regan who will be interviewing Silicon Valley’s TJ Miller and Game Of Thrones Star Jack Gleeson, and for the first time ever The Second Captains Live show! Whew!
