King, the night for queer women and their friends by the creatives behind Mother, is back with a bang for 2026. The event will take place at The Grand Social on Friday, March 13, from 11pm ‘til late.
King is a trans-inclusive space, “with a healthy disrespect for the binary”, which aims to celebrate and soak in female energy and queer joy.
Organisers warn to “expect a floor-shaking celebration packed with pop, house, disco, and big dyke energy in a new home!” The dance party’s lineup is STACKED, including Sahana, Claire Beck and Sally Cinnamon.
Claire Beck, homegrown DJ, broadcaster and music journalist, is resuming her position on the throne (behind the decks) at King this March, for one of her renowned genre-blending and joy-inducing sets. Beck is the resident DJ at King, or ‘Queen of King’. Check out her Mixcloud full of house, pop, and funk for an early taste.

Sally Cinnamon is known for her knowledge of records and taking you on an eclectic journey from disco to rare groove and house. You can check out her Mixcloud here.
Sahana, originally from New York, brings Detroit techno and funky tech-house to the party. She is an avid advocate of DJs of colour on her Dublin Digital Radio show Mast Hour. Have a listen to her Soundcloud here.
Also making an appearance at King is Slick O’, an international performance artist and drag king bringing gender play, cheeky charm, and tease to the stage.
Meanwhile, Terri Walsh is a literal world champion of pole, has been on telly, and she is gracing the people at King with her trademark expression of artistry and strength.

Lisa Connell, co-founder of Mother and King, spoke to GCN on the importance of taking fun seriously, saying that, “as club spaces continue to disappear across Dublin, it feels more important than ever to protect and celebrate the places that bring our community together.”
“Clubbing is culture! It’s where we connect, create, and express ourselves freely. Bringing King back is about carving out space for queer women and our wider family to gather, dance, and exist loudly in a city that still needs more of that.”
