Electric Picnic 2023 has been billed as one of the festival’s most successful years yet. With scorching sun, record-breaking crowds and a lineup boasting some of the world’s biggest names, Stradbally was the place to be over the first weekend in September.

Right in the heart of the action at Electric Picnic was the Dyson Zone, located in the Pink Moon Campsite – a boutique area offering various facilities as well as pre-pitched tents of all different sizes. GCN paid it a special visit to see what was on offer from the festival’s official Headphones and Hair Technology Partner, and safe to say it did not disappoint!

Upon arrival at the sleek black tent, friendly faces from the Dyson team were on hand to greet clients. Behind them lay an awesome setup, with the company’s finest technology on full display.

The most popular service across the weekend was the dry hairstyling experience. The Dyson team were booked and busy for all three days, providing festival-goers, including home-grown famous faces like musician Erica Cody, model Thalia Heffernan and influencers Sophie Murray, Charleen Murray and Zeda, with a chance to relax and get glam at the hands of one of their experts.

The products used ranged from the Dyson Airwrap, a multi-styler that combines powerful airflow with controlled heat to dry and style at the same time, the award-winning Dyson Corrale, a straightener that can reduce hair damage, creating shiny looks with less frizz¹, and the Dyson Supersonic, a fast working hairdryer that makes your hair more smooth and hides flyaways in a single pass².

Clients left delighted with bouncy curls, slick-backed ponytails and beachy waves, and what’s more, the entire service was totally free! Happy customers were shocked and elated to find out that their gorgeous new do didn’t cost a penny.

The service was so popular, that people who failed to book in advance queued up in the hopes of cancellations.

Speaking about the experience of getting her hair done by an expert stylist, one client said, “I literally came in to see what (Dyson) was doing. I was being nosy and the girls were saying they had somebody free, so myself and my friend came in. My friend’s getting hers done now, it looks amazing from what I can see!

“And then, when the stylist was free, he did mine. He used the curling tongs and did it kind of boho – I’m delighted with it!

“I came in like a big frizz ball; my hair was just all over the place having been out, obviously, and I’m delighted. It’s great, you feel a million dollars!” she concluded.

Campers also had the opportunity to take a step back from the hustle and bustle of Electric Picnic and enjoy the Dyson Zone high-fidelity active noise cancelling headphones with air purification. Experts were on hand to give comprehensive demos of the industry-leading device, which is scientifically tuned for every detail and provides comfortable, immersive listening.

As well as providing amazing sound, the headset’s contact-free visor attaches to provide a continuous stream of purified air to your nose and mouth, removing 99% of ultrafine pollutants without touching your face³. Whenever it was needed, campers were able to take a moment to kick back, relax and take a breather before getting their dancing shoes on and hitting the stages.
