Mother Fined For Punching Gay Son in Face

A mother who punched her son in the face and called him a “poof” and a “gay bender” after he came out to her has been ordered to pay £300 in fines and compensation by a Scottish court.

Mother of ten Emma Green responded to son Scott Green’s coming out at a family party in Kinross with a string of homophobic slurs – calling him “poof” and a “gay bender” and telling him “you take cock up the ass – you’re nothing but a dirty queer”, reports Scotland’s Daily Record.

The ensuing argument escalated and eventually police were called. When officers arrived on the scene, and were in the process of arresting Scott for suspected assault, Emma Green walked up to them and punched her son in the head.

When placed under arrest, she told the arresting officers “I’m homophobic. I don’t care – I hate the little gay b******.”

Yesterday, she pleaded guilty to carrying out an assault ‘aggravated by sexual prejudice’ and was ordered to pay £100 compensation to her son and to pay a fine of £200.

Sheriff Lindsay Foulis told Perth Sheriff Court: “If she hadn’t been so stupid as to strike her son when he was being held by police officers, nine times out of ten this wouldn’t have seen the light of day.

“You can’t act in this way and it was added to by the fact it was prejudiced.”

Mother and son have since reconciled their differences. “There is no ongoing ill-feeling between them,” John Adams, Green’s solicitor told the court.
