A 36 year-old trans woman in Kansas was killed by being repeatedly run over by an unknown driver.

Local authorities found Tamara Dominguez lying unresponsive in a carpark at around 3AM on Saturday morning. The woman was rushed to hospital in a critical condition, but died on Monday morning.

A witness came forward and said that they saw the woman step of a black SUV, the driver of the car then intentionally knocked down the woman, and ran over her at least two times after that.

Police have no suspects, and family and friends have said that do not recognise the description of the car as belonging to someone the victim knows.

Juan Rendon, the victims roommate told local news station KCTV5, “We understand that maybe they were arguing, but it’s not fair for what he did. It ain’t fair.”

Rendon also translated a message from the victim’s brother. He said, “He just want to say to the person that did that to her, that he would forgive them for what he did to her, and he hopes that he can forget what he did. We are not here to judge nobody, and he hopes that person really feels bad for what he did.”

Friends and family of the victim have started a crowdfunding page to send the victim’s body to her own country, Mexico, to be buried.

Shockingly, at least 16 other trans woman have been murdered in the United States since the start of 2015. The National Centre for Transgender Equality says that this is a record high.
