Dublin’s Gay Men’s Chorus (DGMC) are flexing their vocal chords and dusting off their Santy hats ahead of two planned Christmas concerts. One is the group’s own annual concert on Sunday, December 4 and the other is as part of the 18th Annual LGBT Christmas Carol Service at the Unitarian Church, Stephen’s Green on Saturday, December 10.

Inspired by the song ‘Silver Bells’, the DGMC’s own Christmas concert will take place at Freemasons’ Hall on Molesworth Street at 6.30pm (free admission) and is certain to be an evening of fun and festive festivities! Admission is free and the caroling kicks off at 6:30pm. For more information, see the group’s Facebook page.

The beloved annual LGBT Carol Service (December 10) will also feature guest speaker, TV3’s political editor, Ursula Halligan. Carols begin at 8pm and the mince pies and mulled wine will make an appearance at 9.15!

This being the season for fa-la-la-la-la-ing, Dublin’s LGBT Choir, Glória are also hosting their own annual Christmas concert, returning to the wonderful acoustics of St Patrick’s Cathedral on Friday, December 16 at 8pm. Featuring a mix of favourites and new pieces, tickets cost €15 and they sell out very quickly, folks, so if you want to be at this very special evening, get them now! Visit gloria.ie for further information.

Then on December 22 in Cork, the annual LGBT-inclusive Carol Service takes place at St Anne’s Shandon Bells church, with a performance from the city’s resident LGBT choir, Choral ConFusion that includes Christmas standards, along with pieces from Rachmaninoff to Carribbean Christmas Reggae. Rasta!
