After an amazing Pride month, the festivities don’t end! Here is a list of some of the incredible LGBTQ+ events coming to Ireland this July.

Barefoot Before God with Lorna Ní Shúilleabháin
July 2, Hysteria Comedy Club
Go to Hysteria Comedy Club for a hilarious comedy show on Catholic guilt, family dynamics, and the awkward yet joyous experience of finding yourself in a new place. Tickets can be purchased here.

Madonna Confessions II Launch Night
July 3, Wilde Cork
Join drag artist Mia Gold for Madonna’s Confessions II album launch party. Attendees are encouraged to dress up in Madonna-inspired looks for a best dressed competition. Expect a night full of fashion, nostalgia, and dancefloor anthems. Complementary tickets can be reserved before 10 and can be found here. 

 

The Act of Existing by Croí Glan
July 3-4, Smurfit Theatre
From choreographer Philip Connaughton comes a work that highlights how marginalised communities have historically been subjected to societal control. More information, including tickets, can be found here. 

 

Traces of the Past
July 4, Drop Dead Twice
Love pub quizzes and queer history? Look no further than Traces of the Past, a good old-fashioned gay history pub quiz. Form a team of four, whether that be your best buds, your lovers, or your enemies and make sure to stay later for some fun karaoke. Tickets can be purchased here.

Pitch, Please!

Giz a Drag
July 10, DV8 Bar & Venue
Perfect for lovers of drag, the early ’90s New York club scene, and the evolution of Ireland’s vogue ballroom scene. Go for an evening filled with an exciting drag show, a nightclub experience, and the avant-garde aesthetic. Tickets can be purchased here.

CNT Summer Bash
July 10, Drop Dead Twice

SAOIRSE
July 10-26, Galway International Arts Festival
Perfect for lovers of musical and coming-of-age queer love stories, SAOIRSE is set to premiere at the Galway International Arts Festival. The show will be in Irish with English language subtitles available via the SIBRWD app. Get your tickets here.  

 

Club Gass
July 11, Róisín Dubh
Club Gass returns to the Róisín Dubh in Galway once again this month. Host Kiki St Clair returns with an incredible lineup of performers. Back by popular demand, DJ Vasuki Red returns to the main stage while DJ Lil Monica can be found in the beer garden upstairs. Tickets can be bought here!

‘Before Gender’ Talk by Eli Erlick

Trans activist Eli Erlick is coming to Hodges Figgis in Dublin for a talk on her new book Before Gender: Lost Stories from Trans Histories 1850- 1950. Go to discover the trailblazing lives of 30 trans people who truly changed history.

Cork Pride 5k Run
July 25, Marina Park
Anyone over 18 is welcome to come run (or walk) this Pride 5k in Cork! There will be a fabulous first-place trophy up for grabs as well as cash prizes in the men’s, women’s, and non-binary categories. Registration for the run can be found here, and more information can be found below.
