The first stills from Red, White & Royal Blue are here, finally giving fans a sneak peek of the highly-anticipated film.

Launching August 11 on Prime Video, the movie is based on Casey McQuinston’s bestselling book of the same name. The novel follows Alex Claremont-Diaz, the son of America’s first female president, as he tries to make sense of his complicated relationship with none other than Prince Henry, a British Royal.

When Alex’s public image comes into question after tabloids publish a picture where he appears to be fighting his rival, Prince Henry, to save relations between the UK and the US, the pair reluctantly agrees to pretend to be friends. However, it doesn’t take long for the fake friendship to develop into something more.

The movie synopsis speaks of their entanglement, writing: “Separated by an ocean, their long-running feud hasn’t really been an issue, until a disastrous—and very public—altercation at a royal event becomes tabloid fodder, driving a potential wedge in U.S./British relations at the worst possible time.

“Going into damage-control mode, their families and handlers force the two rivals into a staged ‘truce’. But as Alex and Henry’s icy relationship unexpectedly begins to thaw into a tentative friendship, the friction that existed between them sparks something deeper than they ever expected.”

Taylor Zakhar Perez will star as Alex, while Nicholas Galitzine will take on the role of Prince Henry, and America’s first female president will be played by Uma Thurman. The cast also includes Clifton Collins Jr., Sarah Shahi, Rachel Hilson, Stephen Fry, Ellie Bamber, Thomas Flynn, Malcolm Atobrah, Akshay Khanna, Sharon D Clarke, Aneesh Sheth and Juan Castano.

Fans have been waiting for a film adaptation of Red, White & Royal Blue for years and excitement only grew bigger when it was announced that the movie was R-rated a little while ago. If, like us, you cannot wait to see the movie, the newly unveiled stills will make the waiting time that little bit easier.
