This year Body and Soul 2016 are upping their game by offering amazing experiences to festival-goers
Body and Soul is one of Ireland’s best festivals which celebrates the summer solstice, meaning that it’s always in and around the day we are closest to the Sun (21 June every year) and because of this people who make the trip to Ballinlough Castle are almost guaranteed great weather! For Body and Soul 2016, the organisers have expanded the arenas that are open to festival-goers with a new arena called Second Nature, brought back the Midsummer Nights by Absolut, and added Absolut Midsummer Brunch Banquet and Beats.
As part of the festival this year, Body and Soul are going to be increasing the space that is available to people inside the festival by adding another arena called Second Nature. Body and Soul describes Second Nature is “an enchanted menagerie of lush music, contemporary performance, immersive, nature-based art and Zen-like pockets of peace, nestled among the centuries-old oaks, pines and ash trees of Ballinlough Castle’s forest.”
Second Nature’s main attraction is The Woodlands Stage, a hand-built platform made from repurposed wood from Body and Soul’s Main Stage with other attractions including Body and Soul’s Pagoda Stage and Light House Cinema’s pop-up cinema which will be screening Prince’s Purple Rain, Grease, The Big Lebowski and more!
Midsummer Nights by Absolut
Returning to Body and Soul this year is Absolut with Midsummer Nights – a fusion of “Sweden’s midsummer nights with Irish heritage for a creative celebration of the summer solstice like no other.”
Performing will be LA electro-circus spectacle Lucent Dossier as well as top Irish DJs.
“The Absolut stage will be awakened with a transformative experience as guests are spellbound by the sexy cirque styling of the otherworldly performance artists, Lucent Dossier, and their breathtaking aerial and stunning fire shows.”
Over the course of the festival, lush bass lines at the Absolut stage will be bigger than ever with some of the biggest names in Irish club culture taking to the ribbon adorned, maypole stage over the weekend
Artists who will be performing at Midsummer Nights by Absolut include Deadbots, Timmy Stewart, Greedy Pig DJs, Rory Phillips, Dublin’s Billy Scurry, Fish Go Deep and many more!
Beside the stage Ireland’s top mixologists will be ready to create some delicious cocktails such as the Absolut Peppar Bloody Mary, Absolut Raspberri Fizz and Absolut Stockholm Mule.
Midsummer Brunch Banquet and Beats by Absolut
Absolut are also offering a FREE Brunch Banquet during Body and Soul 2016 where festival-goers can experience the gorgeous food from Chef Paul Catterson (owner of Burger Republic, ex La Stampa and Conran Restaurants).
The lucky brunch attendees will be treated to an Absolut Bloody Mary to start, followed by French Toast/Eggs Benedict/Absolut Brunchbap under the summer solstice sun.
