Amuse Bouche: Gerry Crossan From Angelina's

Gerry Crossan, the manager of Angelina's

This month we travelled to Percy Place to catch up with Gerry Crossan from the laid-back little Italian restaurant, Angelina’s

Angelina’s promises beautiful food made with only the very best local and international produce.

With dishes created from the bold, sun-filled flavours of Italy and a laid-back, informal vibe, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a delicious lunch, brunch, or dinner in great company. Great food, honestly prepared, simply served.

We caught up with Angelina’s Manager Gerry Crossan to ask him a few questions.

The gayest thing about your restaurant?

I’d have to say the décor – it’s amazing! The outdoor terrace, looking out on the canal, is incredible for cocktails too.

2. Your ideal party of five, living or dead?

Eddie Izzard, Stephen Fry, JK Rowling, my wife Róisín and my son, Charlie.

3. Your favourite place to eat, other than your own, in Dublin?

I love The Mayfield in Terenure. Kevin is a great host and the outside area is fab in the summer.

4. If you weren’t a restaurateur what would you be doing?

In a previous life I was a professional actor in London, I guess I’d still be doing that.

5. What/Who or Where is rocking your world in restaurants right now?

As a Derry native, I’m really excited to try out the new Harry’s in Derry by Donal Doherty. If Harry’s in Donegal and Harry’s Shack on Portstewart Beach are anything to go by, it’ll be amazing.

6. What does the future hold for dining?

Things becoming simpler and more old-school – just great food at reasonable prices and great hospitality. There’s nothing I like better than hearing someone say that they had a great night rather than just a nice meal – it should be about the whole experience from start to finish.
