From an Australian tear-jerker to US documentary looking at out celebrities, Netflix and their range of LGBT movies continue to grow
Netflix’s LGBT movie selection in Ireland is just getting better. So we’ve created this list of top LGBT movies to watch in October.
5. The Out List
The Out List is a HBO documentary which looks at the celebrities who have come out. Ranging from activists, to entertainers, to athletes and politicians, this documentary.
Ellen DeGeneres, Neil Patrick Harris, Jake Shears and more appear in this hour long film from 2013.
4. Boy Meets Girl
Boy Meets Girl tells the story of transgender barista Ricky in rural Kentucky. Ricky, whose real passion is designing clothes, falls in love with Francesca, a soon to be married woman.
With real moments of comedy, this coming-of-age romantic comedy is definitely one to watch.
3. Bridegroom
This documentary tells the story of Shane Britney Crone, whose same-sex partner died, leaving Shane without the legal protections afforded to married couples.
Shane’s partner Tom passed away following a fall, and Tom’s family disinvited Shane to the funeral, telling him he would be attacked if he showed up at the ceremony to commemorate his loved one.
There’s sure to be some tearful moments watching Bridegroom, but ultimately it’s a story about love and living life to the fullest.
With nearly five stars on Netflix, this is one LGBT movie you don’t want to miss.

A biopic, this film traces a love from school, through college and beyond. The film has got nearly 5 stars on Netflix, making it one of the highest rated LGBT films on the streaming service.
1. The Way He Looks
This film tells the story of a blind teenager whose life gets turned upside down when a new boy comes to town.
The movie has got 5 stars on Netflix, and 91% on Rotten Tomatoes, so definitely a must see feel good movie.
