Celine Dion And Deadpool In Heels Storm Social Media

Deadpool gains an unlikely accomplice as legendary diva Celine Dion belts 'Out Of Ashes' on the official movie soundtrack.

The Deadpool 2 media juggernaut continues apace in advance of the film’s upcoming cinema release date, but the unlikely addition of Celine Dion has really made the internet sit up and pay attention.

While Celine is usually known for her emotive singing accompanying serious dramas like Titanic and touching heartwarmers like Beauty And the Beast, it could be forgiven if people wondered what the hell she was doing teaming up with the famously subversive Deadpool. Once the video hits the halfway mark however, the Deadpool creators show once again how they’re owning social media and Celine Dion proves yet again she’s great craic.

Celine begins centre stage, belting Out Of Ashes accompanied by a full string section, so far so expected. And then out comes Deadpool. In high heels. And performs a full interpretive dance that has to be seen to be believed. And it’s actually kind of…lovely? In a tongue in cheek way of course. Of course.

Just in case you were wondering, Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds posted on Instagram, “Ever wonder, “How does Ryan Reynolds dance so beautifully? Did he have 8 bones surgically removed from his body in order to move as if a graceful swan had sex with Fred Astaire?” The answer may surprise you. Yes. I did have 8 bones removed from my body. But the dancing was all @yanismarshall.”

When we reach the epic climax and Deadpool finishes by giving Celine a standing ovation, it leads to a, pretty hilarious, on brand tongue-in-cheek final conversation between the pair. Deadpool says, “We need to do it again, it’s too good. This is Deadpool 2, not Titanic. You’re at like, an 11, we need to get you down to a 5, 5 and a half tops. Just phone it in.”

Legendary Celine Dion points at her throat and says, “Listen, this thing, only goes to 11. So beat it Spiderman.”

“God, I should’ve asked NSync”, he sighs as the video fades to black.

So while Deadpool might not be the queer superhero we were initially promised, he’s still managing to steal our attention.

We’ll take 100 tickets please.
