Yuhua Hamasaki was in Dublin on Friday for 10’s Across the Board with fellow season 10 queens Kameron Michaels, Aquaria, Miz Cracker and Asia O’Hara.

The event which was hosted by Victoria Secret and Danny Beard was a sold out success and before things kicked off, we had the chats with Yuhua about everything from the origins of her drag to her thoughts on Ireland.

Hamasaki is originally from Guangzhou, China, but moved with her family to New York when she was seven. She grew up in Chinatown and learned to speak English by absorbing the culture and attending classes. Like Kim Chi and Pearl, she began doing drag on Halloween.

Yuhua is a professional seamstress and she designed the dress Miz Cracker wore for the good twin part of the twins challenge in episode 11.

After her time on RuPaul’s Drag Race, she released The Ankh Song which is in response to her not realising she was wearing one on the show in her iconic Caution Tape dress.
