Pretty privilege is “a scientific term used by doctors. It’s what happens when you have a really great face, a full head of hair, sexy eyebrows, tight ass, quarter-sized nipples, 8-inch penis, all the traits that gay men unanimously like,” according to one such privileged gay man in this hilarious new video by comedian and screenwriter Michael Henry.
In the video, one gay man talks to another about the advantages and hardships that come with being pretty.
The stereotypically attractive gay man, played by Eduardo Sanchez-Ubanell, listed off some of the misfortunes that come with having pretty privilege:
“I’m always invited to sex parties I don’t have time for, people just offer me drinks, drugs, jobs, I always have to update my Amazon wish list because it keeps getting fulfilled, money just gets Venmoed to me randomly, people always ask me for my Only Fans page and I don’t have one…yet!”
“And just for once, I would like to know what it feels like to go for a job interview! I once tried stand-up, and everybody just started jerking off!”
Oh no, our hearts are breaking for him… (eye roll).
The term “pretty privilege” was coined by psychotherapist Matthew Dempsy back in August when he posted a video encouraging gay men to admit that they may gain certain advantages because of their good looks.
In the video, Matthew admits that being good looking has afforded him certain advantages not only on YouTube but in the gay social scene in general.
“In our beauty-obsessed world, it’s no surprise that pretty people have had an easier go for no other reason than just how they look. Especially in the gay community, men often place extra attention on their appearance to get a leg up when the rest of the world has taught them that they’re already starting at a deficit. If this seems like common knowledge, then why are attractive people so hesitant to publicly acknowledge their advantage? What’s more, how might their denial continue to be harmful to those who don’t benefit from pretty privilege?” wrote Dempsy.

Michael Henry often uses his comedic videos to comment on society and the gay scene, and previously posted a video about gay men’s relationship with alcohol.
