After a rock was thrown through the window of Dublin gay bar, Pantibar, Twitter had a lot to say on the matter.

Queer Community Fires Back After Pantibar Attack

On the eve of Dublin Pride, a large rock, covered in duct tape with a homophobic message scribbled on it, was thrown through the window of Pantibar on Capel Street.

Dublin drag queen Panti Bliss posted about the incident on Facebook stating, “A brick was thrown through Pantibar’s window just now. No one hurt thankfully. It says, in Irish, “FAIRIES (fags) OUT OF IRELAND.” But we are Ireland. Happy Pride everyone. It’s going to be a great day tomorrow, full of Irish love and queer joy. Be thankful for it, because some people have neither.”

The message on the rock said “Píteoga amach as Éireann.”

Thankfully, no one was injured in the attack. Many were quick to condemn the act and the improper use of grammar.

Panti Bliss later tweeted that the person who threw the brick returned to the bar while running from police. The teenager was quickly caught by bar manager Shane and bouncer Aaron. Shortly after, he was arrested by police.

Artist and activist, Will St Leger, took to Twitter after the incident. He erased the hateful message on the rock, creating a clean slate. He then asked his followers to download the image of the blank brick and add their own messages for Dublin Pride.
