GCN’s beloved My Big Fat Gay Quiz returned in full force on Wednesday, September 4, at Love Tempo in Dublin, raising vital funds for Ireland’s LGBTQ+ media and charity. Hosted by the ever-fabulous Miss Roots and Miss Taken, the event was filled with laughter, entertainment, and seven rounds of brain-teasing trivia covering exclusively queer topics.

The quiz covered a wide range of LGBTQ+ categories, including Irish queer history, queer sports, and queer music, providing a fun and informative challenge to the audience. Throughout the night, Miss Roots and Miss Taken kept spirits high with their quick wit and charm, making sure the crowd was laughing throughout.

Some notable questions included ‘Who was the first winner of Drag Race?’ and ‘When was GCN founded?’.

Before the winner was announced, other prizes were given away, including one for the team with the least amount of points, and best team name. Not to mention a total of 19 raffle prizes that included a Middle East Feast Dinner for two courtesy of Brother Hubbard and a magical €250 Boots hamper.

A closely fought battle emerged for second and third place, with two teams locked in a tie. The deciding question, “What number was the last GCN issue?” pushed the teams to their limits, with one emerging victorious and securing second place, winning themselves four tickets to the Pillow Queens Irish Tour.
