The BBC has officially announced the return of the hit queer dating show I Kissed A Girl for a second season, following the airing of I Kissed A Boy on May 11 on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer. This exciting news comes as a welcome development for fans of the series, which has been widely praised for its authentic and heartfelt representation of queer women on mainstream television.
Host Dannii Minogue expressed her enthusiasm about the show’s return, describing I Kissed A Girl as “full of heart and groundbreaking for female representation on TV.” She added that viewers had fallen in love with the show’s fun, passion and raw drama, highlighting how the series has resonated deeply with its audience.
I Kissed A Girl made history last year as the first UK dating series dedicated to queer women, and its success has paved the way for increased LGBTQ+ visibility and inclusion on British screens. The show’s unique focus on queer female relationships has filled a much-needed gap in mainstream TV, offering an honest and entertaining platform for stories often overlooked.
Returning as narrator is Charley Marlowe, who previously shared with PinkNews that the upcoming series will feature “so much kissing,” promising fans more of the genuine, unfiltered moments that made the first season such a hit.
