With Mother’s annual Pride Block Party just days away, the ever-iconic Dublin LGBTQ+ nightclub has given us even more to be excited about with the announcement of the return of its Queer Dance Party at Electric Picnic.
The festival, which celebrates its 20th birthday this year, will return to Stradbally in County Laois from August 16 to 18 for a sold-out weekend starring dozens of established and up-and-coming artists, including headliners such as Kylie Minogue, Noah Kahan, and Calvin Harris over the course of the weekend.
The Mother DJs – Rocky T Delgado, Ruth Kavanagh, and Ghost Boy – will also perform at the festival, alongside special guests like Kelly-Anne Byrne, Glamo, and Billy Bunzari. In addition to Mother-favourite DJs, the After Dark Queer Dance Party will also feature pop-up shows from Adrakedvre, Annie Queeries, Anziety, Avatar Guille, Donna Fella, Faux Joli, Naomi Diamond, Nokia, the OINK Go-Go Dance crew, Saint Marco, Shaquira Knightly, and the Mother dancers.
“From DJs to dance party drag, kinksters, dancers, queer performers & our whole queer festival family we’re gearing up for a weekend of dancing & hedonistic reckless abandon,” said Mother when announcing the upcoming return of its After Dark Queer Dance Party.
“We’re creating an unashamedly queer space at Ireland’s largest music and arts festival,” Mother added. “This ain’t no picnic. It’s a queer dance party!”
Mother will keep the music pumping from 11pm to 4am every night of the festival, so you can keep your party buzz going long after Kylie Minogue wraps her assured performances of chart-topping hits like ‘Padam, Padam’ and ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’.
