Former Disney kid turned pop princess Demi Lovato, has unveiled a brand new Pride themed music video for her single ‘Really Don’t Care’.
Demi shot the video at Los Angeles Pride earlier this month. We see the young star amid a host of anti-bullying signs and rainbow flags as she sings her anthem from a parade float. The track even features a guest rap from X Factor’s own Cher Lloyd and a cameo from gossip blogger Perez Hilton.
The 21 year-old Skyscraper singer explained, “When I originally wrote it, it was a break-up song. But now I have sung it so many times that it kind of no longer has a significance in that sort of way. When I sing it, I always want to inspire and empower.
“I thought what other people could relate to really not caring what people think. I thought of bullies and the LGBT community who are constantly scrutinised. What better place is there than L.A. Pride to celebrate who you are and not really caring what people think?”
While a little cheesy, the video is extremely positive and takes a stand against all the bullies and haters. Good woman, Demi!
