Former porn star Bo Dean is paralysed from the waist down

On 28 November, the star was shot in the chest while having an argument with a friend. The bullet damaged his spinal cord causing paralysis from the waist down. Since the incident, Dean has been in a critical condition at the University Medical Center.

Due to mounting medical costs, the actor is now bankrupt.

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up by a woman named Melanie who says Dean is her “dear friend, best friend… whom I love and cherish.” The site explains the star’s situation and pleads with fans to donate money.

“He has no insurance. No source of income, no way to pay the mounting medical bills and other related expenses (medicines, wheelchair, treatments, rehabilitation etc). This unfortunate incident happened right after we lost our home and was destroyed by a fire. We’ve lost pretty much everything and had to start from scratch,” the site says.

Dean performed for several high-profile gay porn studios during his career, including Raging Stallion, Jake Cruise, CocksureMen, NextDoor, and Men.com. Bo Dean retired from the industry in 2011.

The GoFundMe page had so far raised $1,475 of its $50,000 goal.
