Gogglebox Ireland is back, and the upcoming 11th season promises laughs, gasps and unapologetically camp commentary. Premiering Wednesday, September 10, at 9pm on Virgin Media Play and Virgin Media One, the much-loved series returned with a fresh lineup of familiar faces and some fabulous new ones, giving us the queer energy we’ve all been craving
Leading the LGBTQ+ representation are PJ Kirby and Kevin Twomey, the hilarious duo behind the hit podcast I’m Grand Mam. Known for blending Cork charm with razor-sharp wit, PJ and Kevin are joined on the couch by none other than PJ’s iconic Mammy, Nuala. With queer perspectives, generational humour, and plenty of Corkonian sass, their appearance is set to be a highlight. Plus, fans can get a sneak peek of the gags to come at this year’s GALA Awards, when the two host us through a night of queer awards!
Adding to the rainbow vibes is Shane Daniel Byrne, a queer comedy powerhouse and one-third of The Young Hot Guys, alongside fellow funnymen Tony Cantwell and Killian Sunderman. Their chaotic energy, offbeat takes and internet-savvy commentary are sure to inject the series with bold queer humour that’s as smart as it is silly.
Queer comedy also gets its moment with comedy legend Rosie O’Donnell and her beloved assistant, Frankie, sitting down with Irish audiences. Elsewhere in the episode, expect iconic TV pairings like Marty Whelan and Mary Kennedy, Jason Byrne and Jason McAteer, and Tommy Bowe and Andrew Trimble, along with pop culture legends like Louis Walsh. TikTok’s own Garron Noone and Deirdre O’Kane will step out from behind the mic and onto the couch, joining comedian Emma Doran, with a surprise guest celebrity replacing her as voice-over for the episode.
Whether you’re here for the nostalgia (hi, Dustin the Turkey, Zig and Zag, and Ray D’Arcy) or the fresh faces, Gogglebox Ireland Season 11 is shaping up to be a celebration of Irish culture, comedy, and queerness, all from the best seat in the house.
