The Sims 4 has released a new set of Pride-themed items as part of a free content update, announced on Wednesday, April 2. The update, called “Burst of Pride,” introduces a range of vibrant, LGBTQ+-inspired additions, including clothing, make-up, face paint, tattoos, and even home décor, all designed to celebrate Pride.
Accompanied by a short 30-second trailer, the update showcases a variety of items aimed at allowing players to express their individuality and Pride through their Sims. In the video, multiple same-sex couples can be seen interacting with each other in their newly kitted-out queer décor.
Fans can expect exciting new items such as a checkered button-up shirt, denim shorts, Pride-themed knee-high socks, Converse shoes, and various queer wall art and bedding designs. Players can also access new face paint and tattoo options, allowing for even more creative ways to show off their personal style and pride.

The update also comes with a powerful tagline, “Show everyone your pride every day,” encouraging players to embrace their identity and share it proudly in-game. This content update is just one of many free releases planned for The Sims 4 throughout the year, continuing the game’s commitment to inclusivity and diversity.
The 2024 “Lovestruck” expansion pack, priced at $39.99 (€36.06), introduced a range of new intimate interactions, including the addition of non-monogamy options and a fictional dating app mechanic, giving players even more freedom to explore diverse relationship dynamics. Previously, in 2023, The Sims developers added the game’s options for trans Sims in a free content update, which included character customisation options such as top-surgery scars, chest binders, and other types of gender-affirming shapewear.
With these updates, The Sims 4 continues to build on its reputation as a game that encourages self-expression, celebrates diversity, and supports players in creating worlds where everyone can live authentically. The addition of Pride-themed content comes at a time when many other companies are scaling back their support for LGBTQ+ rights due to Trump’s order to dismantle diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programmes.
