The trans TikToker behind the viral “demure” meme has revealed that creating videos has allowed her to earn enough money to finance her gender-affirming care. Jools Lebron, also known by her handle @joolieannie, shared the heartwarming news in an emotional social media post published on Tuesday, August 13.

“Make the videos, TikTok has changed my life,” the content creator said.

“One day I was playing cashier and making videos on my break, and now I’m flying across country to host events and I’m gonna be able to finance the rest of my transition,” she added.

Although Jools has been making beauty videos for some time, earlier this month she achieved viral success after sharing tips on “How to be demure and modest and respectful at the work place”. 

“See how I do my make-up for work? Very demure, very mindful. I don’t come to work with a green-cut crease. I don’t look like a clown when I go to work,” she humorously explained.

“I don’t too much. I’m very mindful while I’m at work. See how I look very presentable; the way I came to the interview is the way I go to the job. A lot of you girls go to the interview looking like Marge Simpson and go to the job looking like Patty and Selma. Not demure,” she continued.

“I’m very modest. I’m very mindful. You see my shirt? Only a little chi chi out, not my cho cho. Here’s your reality check diva. What’s the name you would like me to make it out to?”

The clip received 33.2 million views since being uploaded, and the phrase “very demure, very mindful” has taken the internet by storm. The trans TikToker has continued to make similar informative videos, including how to order room service, visit Los Angeles and respond to drama “in a demure way”.
