Ryan Gosling and Saoirse Ronan were present at the proposal of two women at the Q&A of his film Lost River.

At the Texas-based festival SXSW, a woman decided to take the time to propose to her girlfriend at the Lost River viewing though it was mostly spontaneous.

Heather MacKay had carried the ring around and wasn’t sure when she would pop the question, but felt this was the right moment.

MacKay took the opportunity to say, “I think your film is amazing, but I’m going to kind of take away from it for a second if I can and ask my girlfriend of 11 years if she’ll marry me.”

The entire room, including the cast, gasped before good-guy Gosling rushed over to give MacKay the microphone so the room could hear her proposal.

Of course, the girlfriend said yes and everyone in the audience “awwed”. Before Ryan Gosling said that was a good place to end the Q&A and congratulated the couple.
