The Dan Daw Show, presented as part of the Dublin Fringe Festival, is showing at the Project Arts Centre on September 22-23, and GCN has two pairs of tickets to give away to two lucky readers!
According to the show’s description, “After spending his whole life as an inspiration to others, Dan seizes the moment to inspire himself and lets go of who he once was to make room for who he wants to be.”
The whole performance is about care, intimacy, resilience, letting go and reclaiming yourself. It gives the audience a peak into “the shiny and sweaty push pull of living with shame while bursting with pride.”
Dan is joined on stage by performer and collaborator Christopher Owen for an intimate evening of play in which Dan takes back his power by being dominated on his own terms.
The Stage calls this internationally acclaimed Dan Daw Creative Projects performance “unapologetic, vulnerable, brilliant,” and The Guardian called it “unlike anything else you are likely to see”.
The Reviews Hub said: “Daw’s use of kink to explore his relationship with his own body does seem cathartic to him, and it’s never anything less than watchable.”
The play was nominated for the 2021 National Dance Awards and the 2022 UK Theatre Achievement in Dance Award, and it will be showing at the Project Arts Centre in Dublin on September 22 and 23 with an audio-described performance at 6:15pm on September 23.
The Dublin Fringe Festival 2023 will turn the city into a stage from September 9–24. Expect some of the most jaw-dropping performances and events of the year, including form-bursting theatre in unlikely settings, hilarious comedy, electric dance performances, immersive installations and epic party nights.
