Ahead of their highly-anticipated album release on April 1, the Dublin-based band returned to Los Angeles to perform for James Corden on The Late Late Show.

As they tour the United States, the Pillow Queens dropped in to visit James Corden in LA, where they first made their US television debut. The Irish band from Dublin performed Hearts and Minds on the stage of The Late Late Show ahead of their second album release on April 1.

Following their hugely successful debut LP, In Waiting, (declared “one of the best albums of 2020” by Corden himself), their next album Leave The Light On already has fans on the edge of their seats.

Despite the overwhelmingly positive response they’ve had, Pillow Queen Pamela Connolly admits that they’re “a little bit scared” about their month-long tour of the States, their most ambitious tour yet.

“But we’ve earned our stripes because we’ve had really long drives when we do UK tours – just because we’ve done something wrong,” Pamela told Hot Press in a recent interview. “On our last tour, I can’t remember where we were going, but it was supposed to be a four-hour drive, and it ended up being ten hours because we had a tyre blowout. And technically, I don’t think any of our drives in America are ten hours.”

“We are at a particular stage in life, one in which you think you’re not going to feel emotions as much as you felt them when you were younger, but then you find that that’s not necessarily the case,” Pamela said on the inspiration behind their upcoming album.

The lead singer and guitarist continued, “It was an active thing for us, to be a little bit more forthcoming with our emotions on this record. Because we had the time to feel them, articulate them, and explore them.”

The quartet will be returning to the Irish stages in October 2022, kicking off in Vicar Street, Dublin, on the first and second, and wrapping up in Set Theatre, Kilkenny on the 20th.
