Stop Homophobic American Pastor Banned Across Europe From Preaching In Ireland

GCN has teamed with All Out and LGBT Ireland to block pastor Steven Anderson from spreading his message of hate and violence.

A pastor who proposed the extermination of LGBT+ people to “cure” AIDS and who celebrated the Pulse nightclub massacre by saying there were “50 less paedophiles in this world” has been banned from entering the 26 European states which make up the Schengen Zone. Now GCN has teamed with All Out and LGBT Ireland on a petition to stop Steven Anderson from spreading his vile and dangerous message in Ireland.

Anderson is due to visit Dublin as part of a European ‘tour’ by his Faithful Word Baptist church, which is currently listed as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Centre. Before that happens, the petition calls for Charlie Flanagan, the Minister of Justice, to block him from entering this country. If thousands around the world join in solidarity with our call, authorities won’t be able to ignore us. On Wednesday, the government of the Netherlands banned him from entering the country following a call from MPs and LGBT+ activists. Mark Habers, their State Secretary of Justice and Security stated they were “taking strong action against extremist speakers who, by spreading their beliefs, restrict the freedoms of others or even incite hatred or violence.”

He will also be refused entry to the Schengen Zone, which among its 26 states lists France, Germany, Spain and Norway.

The pastor makes absolutely no attempt to veil his incredibly dangerous beliefs. He has told his congregations that homosexual people are “sodomites who recruit through rape” and “recruit through molestation” and can never be “saved”.

During one of his sermons, he preached, “The biggest hypocrite in the world is the person who believes in the death penalty for murderers but not for homosexuals.” When questioned, he later doubled down on his preachings, saying, “I do hate homosexuals and if hating homosexuals makes our church a hate group, then that’s what we are.”

We see no reason not to respond to those who would call for our death. Sign now and help us keep pastor Steven Anderson out of Ireland.
