Sligo Pride has announced its return with the legendary comeback of a three-day festival, running from August 9 to August 11. Working alongside Dublin LGBTQ Pride and the Outing Festival, Sligo Pride’s comeback is planning on returning in style.
The double combo of a banner-making workshop and open mic night will be launching the Sligo Pride festival in the Riverside Hotel on Friday, August 9. Promoting talent from around the area, this event will host poets, comedians, story-tellers and a variety of other performers. This promises to be a great launch for the festivities.
The Parade will be following a different route from previous years. People attending the parade will be marching from the gathering point towards Stephen’s Street. At the end of the route, people can enjoy Sligo’s very first Pride Party, which takes to the stage at the Sligo Summer Festival from 3 pm.
The Sligo Rovers Football Club has shown their support for the comeback of Sligo Pride. The festivities are bringing together the community.

Sligo Pride’s After Party will be hosted by Eddie McGuinness, the Outing Festival Director and Founder, and Carrie Deway, winner of Ringmasters Drag Race Cycle 3. The After Party promises to give people “a taste of the Outing Festival”. The After Party will be getting underway at 8:30 pm in the Clayton Hotel.
If that wasn’t enough of an astounding event lineup, the Swagman Sunday Chillout will help people with the festive come down the day after. Bringing things to a close, the Chillout will take place at the Swagman Bar, Wine Street from 2.30pm.
Sligo Pride is making up for lost time with a jam-packed weekend planned which promises to deliver something for everyone under the LGBT+ rainbow. The Comeback will be the best yet, promising amazing acts, wonderful music, and a great sense of community.
