James O’Hagan and Cian Sullivan from Sissy That Pod just dropped a brand new podcast and here’s why you shouldn’t miss it. Queer Classified aims to revisit cult classics, forgotten gems and massive blockbusters through a “contemporary rainbow lens”.
You might remember James O’Hagan and Cian Sullivan from Sissy That Pod, their Drag Race recap podcast (in each episode they scrutinise the selection of sickening queens participating in Drag race). And if you have no idea who we’re talking about, now it’s time to get to know them.
This formidable duo is back with a brand new podcast with the title Queer Classified. Each week, the two hosts invite a special guest to their newest episode and discuss with them a movie, a TV show, a music video, a book or an album with one specific goal in mind: finding the appeal for the LGBTQ+ community and seeing how well it is portrayed.

Every episode then ends with a rating of the subject discussed in the following four categories:
- how well it represents and portrays the queer community,
- how does the story appeal to the queer perspective and experience,
- how well it’s made
- how enjoyable it is.
Some episodes of the first season have already aired and you can go right now and listen to drag icon Avoca Reaction talk about Gossip’s debut Album ‘Standing in the Way of Control’ or broadcaster and beauty columnist Louise McSharry revisit 90’s cult classic Clueless.
Want some names you can expect from the upcoming episodes? Think Buzz O’Neill, Wren Dennehy and none other than Shane Dan Byrne.
Queer Classified is a co-production between Sissy Productions and Tall Tales Podcasts. Episodes air every Sunday and you can find those that have already aired right here. What are you waiting for? Go listen to this amazing podcast!
