Belfast queer content creator, Paul Bloomer, otherwise known as Bloomeroid, will be taking on a 24-hour charity livestream in aid of mental health charity organisation Samaritans.
The stream begins at 9:00am CEST/8:00am UK & Ireland time on Saturday, July 18, 2026. Bloomeroid will be streaming live across a variety of platforms, including Twitch, YouTube, and TikTok.
The charity stream will consist of 24 hours of different games, chatting with viewers, and welcoming members of the public to join multiplayer games throughout the duration of the event. All donations collected during the stream will go directly to Samaritans through the official fundraising page.
For over 70 years, Samaritans has provided free, confidential, non-judgmental listening services for anyone struggling to cope, which are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The charity aims to reduce suicide, improve emotional well-being, and raise awareness of mental health struggles across the whole of the UK and Ireland.

Samaritans is an active supporter of LGBTQ+ communities, participating in Pride events across the UK and Ireland. The charity was even at Dublin Pride this year! Volunteers provided face-to-face support and a listening ear during the festival for the entire community. Samaritans often incorporate LGBTQ+ experiences into their volunteer training, work with LGBTQ+ organisations to improve understanding and support for the community, and have a vast variety of internal LGBTQ+ staff and volunteers.
“This fundraiser is incredibly personal to me,” says Paul “Bloomeroid” Bloomer. “During one of the darkest periods of my life, a Samaritan was there to listen without judgment and helped me get through it. I’ll never forget that kindness, and this stream is my way of giving something back so that support is there for the next person who needs it.
“As a proud queer man from North Belfast, it also means a great deal to support an organisation that stands alongside LGBTQIA+ communities, takes part in Pride events across Ireland and the UK, and works to ensure everyone knows they have someone to talk to. If you enjoy gaming, I’d love you to join me, play a few games, have a chat, and, if you’re able, support this fantastic cause.”
The livestream is open to the public, whether that means simply watching, playing games alongside Bloomeroid, joining the conversation, or supporting the fundraiser. Everyone is welcome to join!
