Treatment options at Sims IVF
For same-sex female couples, Sims IVF offers a range of options such as intrauterine insemination (IUI) or IVF with donor sperm.
Sims IVF offers genetic matching with your sperm donor which is performed in collaboration with the sperm banks. Both you and your chosen donor can undergo a panel of genetic tests (performed on cells collected from a saliva sample) which allow us to compare your genetic profile with that of the donor. In doing so, experts can check many condition-causing genes and greatly reduce the chances of a child being born with a severe genetic disease.
Sims IVF also offers the deeply connecting experience of shared motherhood – a beautiful experience where one partner provides the egg and the other carries the pregnancy. The embryos are created using donor sperm. For many couples, this is a beautiful process that allows both parents to have a unique linkage to the child. Donor sperm is available when using the patient’s own eggs.
“It is an assisted reproduction treatment exclusively for female couples, as it allows both to actively participate in the process of conceiving their baby. One will be the biological mother (through egg donation), and the other will be the surrogate mother (the recipient of the generated embryo(s),” explains Dr Marta Moschetta.
For trans and non-binary individuals, Sims IVF also offers fertility preservation options, including egg and sperm freezing, giving people the freedom to plan for their future family on their own terms.
Sims IVF is also partnered with My Surrogacy Journey®, one of the UK’s leading surrogacy organisations. Sims IVF provides fertility testing only for Irish Intended Parents.
The organisation understands that it is not an easy journey to go on and therefore it provides many services to help patients reach their goals. It also provides counselling services to assist with the emotional and psychological factors of your fertility journey.
