WOW Presents Plus has confirmed that fans of RuPaul’s Drag Race will be able to watch the UK version of the show on WOW Presents Plus in Ireland.
WOW Presents Plus is a streaming service from the creators of RuPaul’s Drag Race. It showcases original series from Valentina, Detox, and Bob the Drag Queen, as well as an award-winning lineup of films, docs, drag, and LGBT+ shows.
Initially, WOW said that Drag Race UK would not be available to watch in the Republic of Ireland on the streaming network as it was thought that Irish viewers would be able to tune in on BBC iPlayer.
WOW confirmed to GCN that they have now reviewed this and the series will soon be available to stream from Ireland on WOW Presents Plus.
WOW Presents Plus will host new episodes weekly, launching each installment day-and-date with the UK edition’s screenings at 8 pm on the BBC Three iPlayer.
The ten contestants vying their way for the inaugural Drag Race UK crown are Baga Chipz, Blu Hydrangea, Crystal, Cheryl Hole, Divina De Campo, Gothy Kendoll, Sum Ting Wong, Scaredy Kat, The Vivienne and Vinegar Strokes.
Joining RuPaul and Michelle Visage on the judging panel will be Graham Norton and Alan Carr as returning judges along with several guest judges including Little Mix’ Jade Thirwall, Geri Horner aka Ginger Spice, Maisie Williams, Cheryl and Andrew Garfield.
In the meantime, you can get to know the queens here or if you are more of a podcast person, check out Sissy That Pod, a podcast from two Irish Drag Race mega-fans: James from ‘The Big Gay Bucketlist’ and Cian from ‘Umbrella & Selected’.
The pair have already kicked things off with a ‘Meet the Queens’ special and will be dissecting the episodes each week.
WOW Presents Plus is €3.99 a month after a 30-day free trial. Sign up here.

GCN has been a vital, free-of-charge information service for Ireland’s LGBTQ+ community since 1988.
During this global COVID pandemic, we like many other organisations have been impacted greatly in the way we can do business and produce. This means a temporary pause to our print publication and live events and so now more than ever we need your help to continue providing this community resource digitally.
GCN is a registered charity with a not-for-profit business model and we need your support. If you value having an independent LGBTQ+ media in Ireland, you can help from as little as €1.99 per month. Support Ireland’s free, independent LGBTQ+ media.
