We already know seven of the best lesbian relationships on TV, so today we are bringing you 11 of the best gay couples!
Holt and Kevin – Brooklyn Nine-Nine
A relationship all Brooklyn Nine-Nine fans admire! Despite a brief separation in Season 8, the Captain and the Professor have been together since Kevin interviewed Holt for an article. Later, they got married when same-sex marriage became legal in New York in 2011. Isn’t it an inspiring story?
Ian and Mickey – Shameless
Gallavich (the ship between Ian Gallagher and Mickey Milkovich), as their fandom calls them, might be one of the most chaotic gay couples on TV. So many things occur during their relationship: jail, marriage, guns, getting together, breaking up… whatever you can imagine (and even more).
Bill and Frank – The Last of Us
This gay couple survived for nearly 20 years together, away from the apocalyptic world and fortifying their own house against the infected. However, all good things must come to an end. To avoid any spoilers, let’s just say there was no ‘happily ever after’ in this case.
Robert and Sol – Grace and Frankie
This TV series’ gay couple offers a vibrant reminder that it’s never too late to find love or come out. Two ‘straight’ retired married men, whose wives also know each other, suddenly decide to tell the truth: their friendship has evolved into something more, and they want to live their lives together as they are in love.
Mitch and Cam – Modern Family
We couldn’t miss one of the best sitcom duos of all time. Entertaining, energetic and charismatic, this couple is always up for some fun.
Kurt and Blaine – Glee
Klaine, the ship between Blaine and Kurt, is one of Glee‘s iconic gay couples. Again, ups and downs with breakups and getting back togethers which make the viewer keep watching until the very last season.
Nick and Charlie – Heartstopper
Narlie is undoubtedly one of the favourite gay couples on TV in recent years. They meet when they sit next to each other in class and after an unexpected incident with a pen explosion, they start getting to know each other and eventually become close friends. Episode after episode, their feelings for each other deepen, something fans already knew was inevitable.
Connor and Oliver – How to Get Away with Murder
A gay couple in an iconic murder TV series. Could it be any better? As the episodes go by, their relationship evolves. From strangers to marriage, their storyline in this drama thriller is as captivating as the main narrative.
Magnus and Alec – Shadowhunters
In the TV adaptation of the bestselling novel series The Mortal Instruments, Malec (the ship between Alec and Magnus) is a gay couple that has captured the audience’s hearts. Although the series was eventually cancelled, this devil-angel duo is undoubtedly one of the favourites of supernatural fans.
Isak and Even – Skam
Skam was hugely popular a few years ago, thanks to a great plot that authentically represented teenagers’ lives. The TV series particularly resonated with the LGBTQ+ community, by portraying queer characters, such as Isak and Even.
The Sensates – Sense8
We are ending the list in a special way – not with a gay couple, but an eight-lover relationship. In this TV series, the connection between the main characters evolves into something more than just friendship, but also more complex than polygamic love as it is commonly understood.
That concludes our list! This is just a selection of the many gay couples on TV; we hope you’ve found something you’re eager to watch.
