The team behind Mullingar Pride is inviting everyone to join their third annual festival on Saturday, July 13, for “the ultimate extravaganza in Irish queer entertainment and more!”

Mullingar Pride has hosted two successful Pride parades and festivals since their official launch in March 2022, and this year, they are back with “exciting plans and a vibrant new vibe.”

The team has worked hard to increase LGBTQ+ visibility in Mullingar over the past three years by having a colourful and joyous presence in the town.

The 2024 Mullingar Pride Festival includes family-friendly events, live entertainment, a Pride parade through the town, and the highlight of the grand celebration, their unmissable Werk!Fest.

Last year’s festival hosted in the heart of Mullingar marked the first major queer event in the town’s history, and this year’s event promises to bring even more festivities.

The official celebration concert will return for the third year in a row, marking the Mullingar Pride Trilogy Era. The afternoon will be headlined by Irish icons Linda Martin and Niamh Kavanagh.

Additional evening headliners include the Haus of Kwén, featuring performers such as Domino, Tess Tickles, Kobra Kage, Sassy Weef, Jackie Off, Éireasure, and Madz Anxiety.

The Werk!Fest will showcase national queens alongside local drag star Betty Loveeens and Manchester drag star Cremé Bruleé, with DJs and more to entertain the crowd.

Following Werk!Fest, everyone is invited to a free entry official After Party in Smiddys Bar from 10pm onwards. Mullingar Pride shared: “We shall be taking over the Rooftop Bar AND The Stables to celebrate late into the night with all things Pride.” During the night, revellers will also enjoy performances from drag legends Viola Gayvis and Domino Tiagi.

Mullingar Pride is a volunteer-led and non-profit established in September 2021 to create and promote a safe, positive, and visible space for LGBTQ+ individuals in Mullingar and the surrounding areas. Members are dedicated to fostering inclusion, diversity, and equality, ensuring that everyone feels wanted and welcome.

Among their initiatives are Mullingar Youth Pride, founded in partnership with Youth Work Midlands, and Mullingar Pride Meetup, an adult social group which provides a safe environment for adults to socialise through a book club, breakfast mornings, and day trips, with more activities planned later this year.
