Pornhub has released its 2025 Pride insights and statistics for gay adult content, offering a window into viewing trends across the globe, with Ireland’s top search turning out to be none other than “Daddy.”
While this data is purely reflective of online activity and not necessarily indicative of broader societal attitudes, it provides a look at how desires and preferences differ across countries and age groups. It’s important to note, however, that while Pornhub remains one of the most dominant adult platforms globally, it continues to face ongoing criticism for its content moderation, labour ethics, and platform accountability.
Reporting on its statistics does not equate to endorsement, but rather offers a lens into cultural trends and personal curiosities. Similarly, we want to make clear that we do not pass judgment on anyone who browsed the terms or categories mentioned in this article. GCN is a sex-positive publication, with a strong emphasis on consent and autonomy.
In Ireland, the term “Daddy” dominated the gay category in 2025, reflecting a continued fascination with age gap dynamics and dominant/submissive themes. In contrast, the UK’s top gay search was “Twink”.
Across the broader European continent, “Twink” content also continuously came up in search bars , including in Russia, where it was the most popular gay category. Other widely viewed categories globally included “Group Sex,” “Cartoon,” and “Bareback”, the latter being especially popular in Australia and various parts of Africa. On the African continent, preferences were notable with the “Black” category leading in popularity, but closely followed by “Twink,” “Bareback,” and “Group” content.

The most viewed gay performer globally in 2025 was Malik Delgaty, with Joey Mills and Foxy Alex following closely. Interestingly, the list of top 25 performers also included several straight-identifying men, such as Johnny Sins, Gattouz0, and Maximo Garcio, showing the blurring lines between sexual identities and on-screen personas in the adult industry.
As for age demographics, the highest proportion of viewers engaging with male-on-male content came from the 18-24 age group (27%), followed by the 25-34 group (20%). Viewership declined with age, with only 11% of users aged 65 and above.
